Reports suggest that feuding brothers Prince William and Prince Harry may have an opportunity to reconcile this summer at what is being touted as the royal event of the year. The 7th Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, who is also Prince George’s godfather, has purportedly begun sending out invitations to guests for his impending wedding in June. The Duke’s nuptials with his longtime partner, Olivia Henson, are scheduled to take place on June 7 at the grand Chester Cathedral.
According to reports from the Mail, Prince George is potentially poised for a significant role at the wedding, possibly attending as a page boy, considering his status as the duke’s godchild. However, uncertainties loom over the presence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as the Duke of Sussex.
The Princess of Wales disclosed her battle with cancer last Friday, following a prior “major abdominal surgery” in January, and is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy. Whether Prince Harry, who shares a close bond with both the duke and his brother Prince William, will be present remains unclear. Should he attend, it would mark the first encounter between the estranged brothers since King Charles’s Coronation last May.
Commentator Ephraim Hard Castle notes that Grosvenor, aged 33, remains impartial, fostering positive relations with both parties and leaving the resolution of their family discord in their hands.
Additionally, the Duke of Westminster garnered recognition as the wealthiest individual under the age of 35 in the UK, according to the Sunday Times. He also secured the 11th position in the UK’s overall Rich List for 2023.
